Hear Vino discuss a book that impacted him heavily which was, Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography, “The Story of My Experiments with Truth.” This read taught him about the evolving nature of truth and inspiring his work. Vino then shares his journey at Catholic Charities, a 103-year-old organization that provides care and hope to those in need. He explains their mission to address various community needs, such as homelessness, immigrant and refugee support, and programs for seniors.
Hear Vino share what he believes is the importance of Catholic Charities being present in neighborhoods and partnering with local parishes to serve everyone regardless of their beliefs. He also talks about their efforts to redesign their operations, including establishing multiple food pantries and a centralized warehouse to distribute food. Vino mentions their plans to engage retired individuals through programs like Foster Grandparents, and he emphasizes the importance of building trust with pastors and working within the structure of the Catholic Church.
