Reality Changers is an organization dedicated to helping first-generation students become first-generation college graduates. Listen as Tamara explains that they primarily work with students starting in the 8th grade who often have lower GPAs. Their goal is to provide support, mentorship, and resources to help these students improve their academic performance and prepare for college.
Hear Tamara share the great success that Reality Changers has had, with their over 3500 graduates from the program. Tamara also discusses the challenges faced by these first-generation students, including language barriers and the need for additional academic support. She emphasizes the impact of positive role models and support systems on these students’ achievements and explains that they Reality Changers provides a supportive environment with activities, tutoring, homework assistance, and even meals.
